Dr Michel Chaaya is an internationally recognised leader in the delivery of complex projects across multiple sectors. Since 2008, he has held senior business development roles across construction, engineering consultancy, property, IT systems, facilities management, funds management, and manufacturing in Australia.
He specialises in strategic growth, project origination, and high-level stakeholder engagement, with a strong focus on multi-staged and high-end development projects. Through his work with The Agency (Projects Division – Sites & Acquisitions), Michel brings deep market insight supported by an extensive professional network across Australasia and the MENA region.
Alongside industry practice, Michel has an established academic career, publishing in leading international journals and supervising over 250 theses in construction and project management. He has lectured at the University of Sydney, UNSW, and UTS.
Dr. Chaaya is a Civil Engineer, holds a Master’s in Structural Engineering and a PhD from the University of Sydney, and is a Fellow of Engineers Australia and the College of Leadership and Management.
